Considered by many players as the spiritual heir of Dead Space (which will star in a remake arriving in January 2023), The Callisto Protocol will really be in the hands of players on December 2, 2022. In fact, today, Striking Distance and Krafton have officially announced the entry into gold of the horror set in space.
The announcement came today, Friday 21 October 2022, with a short post published on the official social networks of the title. “We are thrilled to announce that The Callisto Protocol has gone gold. The entire development team thanks you for your support and anticipation for the game. We can't wait for you to encounter the horror you've come to expect in Black Iron Prison on December 2, 2022.” reads the terse press release launched in these ore.
The news closes a not exactly happy period for The Callisto Protocol, with Glen Schofield (author and game designer) who had sided in favor of the crunch. An exit that caused quite a stir, enough to push Schofield to completely retract and back down. The development team also wanted to have its say on the issue of 30 frames per second, reiterating that their game will instead run at 60 frames per second on any next-gen platform, even Xbox Series S.
