Galaxy Z Fold 2 makes you wait. After various rumors that spoke of a possible arrival as early as August together with the Galaxy Note 20 range, Max Weinbach of XDA-Developers turns off all enthusiasm by stating that the new Samsung foldable will not debut before autumn. For the source, this is not surprising: the software is not yet mature enough.

At this point, Weinbach assumes there may be an announcement during the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event set for August 5, but with all details postponed to September. The smartphone, however - according to the source - could even be marketed in October. The assumptions are supported by information gleaned from the Galaxy Store code. There are references for the tests of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G while Galaxy Z Fold 2 would be completely absent.

In short, considering the problems encountered with the launch of the first generation of a strictly hardware nature, it is understandable that Samsung wants to have a complete and hard-tested product in its hands before any launch. According to what has been leaked so far, Galaxy Z Fold 2 is expected to have larger displays: 6,23-inch exterior and 7,7-inch interior with 120Hz refresh rate and camera hole. Support for the new 5G networks should not be lacking.

In short, an enhancement and improvement of the first folding smartphone. We will most likely have to wait a little longer before we see how Galaxy Fold will evolve.
