Here we go again: once again anti cheat software failed. As reported online, in fact, several Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 games have been removed from the game, for reasons that are absolutely not related to incorrect behavior or the use of cheats.
Jake Lucy, founder of Full Squad Gaming, has thought about spreading most of the testimonies of players who have been removed from the game servers. “There is a very serious ban issue in Modern Warfare 2, with users being permanently banned for cheating and appeals falling on deaf ears,” reads the widespread chirping a few hours after the official launch of the new game in the series, which took place last Friday.
The news is not new and unfortunately it still shows all the limits of companies handle cheaters. Very often these bans occur only on PCs and are linked to perfectly legitimate third-party software, such as all Logitech programs that allow you to remap mouse keys or tools that monitor in-game performance. Specifically, however, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 it seems that players are just unable to appeal to Activision for the ban received, thus making the purchase of the game completely useless.
There is a serious false ban problem going around for CoD MW2, people being perma banned for cheating and appeals insta denied
I have received hundreds of replies and DM’s including from people I trust to not be cheating. Reply if you’ve had similar issues. pic.twitter.com/5KA4DSAoFK

We don't know if the situation will return to normal, but surely Activision and Infinity Ward will have to work hard to prevent the situation from getting out of hand. The risk, on the other hand, is that of leaving out a large portion of users, also going to damage the internal economy of the game, with a part of the public who will not be able to make in-game purchases such as skins, special packs and the inevitable season pass, which will arrive on November 16, 2022 on all platforms.
