How to use WhatsApp on PC and smartphone at the same time

If you want to use WhatsApp on your PC and smartphone at the same time, we will show you how.

Are you a multitasking? WhatsApp Web makes it easier for you to work on two devices at the same time, which is useful when dealing with people while you work.

Here's how to harness the power of WhatsApp on PCs and smartphone devices at the same time.

Web WhatsApp

WhatsApp is a must on your phone, but it also helps to be able to chat with a regular keyboard. If you use WhatsApp on a daily basis, you will know that simultaneous use is a feature that WhatsApp users have wanted more than any other. This is because it is much more convenient to use WhatsApp on PC and mobile devices at the same time.

Previously, it wasn't possible to use WhatsApp on your phone and sync those messages with WhatsApp on your PC, but the service introduced WhatsApp Web in early 2015, which works similar to third-party apps.

How to use WhatsApp on PC and phone at the same time

Using WhatsApp Web means that you can easily switch between WhatsApp on your laptop and phone at the same time. You can do this without a hack and it couldn't be easier. Simply follow the steps below:

  • On your computer or tablet, launch the browser of your choice and go to. It should work on any browser. Just make sure you are viewing the desktop site. You should see a QR code on your PC. You don't need a QR reader on your phone to read the code.
  • Launch WhatsApp on your phone, then tap Settings> Connected devices .
  • Now touch Collect a device . The WhatsApp QR reader will open on your mobile device. Center the code in the QR reader by pointing the phone at the code. This should automatically log into WhatsApp on the web. Then, select your laptop on the screen. When done, you should be able to use WhatsApp on both your mobile device and your computer at the same time.

What to know when using WhatsApp on your PC and mobile

The interface on WhatsApp Web will be familiar to that of your phone, but keep in mind that desktop notifications are supported. So, when you receive a message on WhatsApp, the notification will appear first on the device you are using and then on the other device.

For example, if you are using WhatsApp on your laptop, when you receive a message, the notification will appear on your laptop screen and then on your phone a few moments later. You can open the message and reply on the other device. You may want to change this for privacy reasons if you are using a shared PC.

To do this on WhatsApp Web, select the icon of menu on the left side of the screen, which appears as an arrow pointing down. Now touch Settings , Notifications , then check the box next to Turn off all desktop notifications .

How to manage your devices on WhatsApp

Once your phone and computer are connected, you can manage which computers you are logged into from your phone by going to Settings > Connected devices in the WhatsApp app. From here, you can disconnect from the PC you are using or remove all listed devices.

By default, WhatsApp will keep you logged in until you log out. But if you do, you will have to repeat the steps for the QR code procedure to use WhatsApp on that device.

Messages between your phone and browser sync instantly, so if you have a limited mobile data contract, you should be wary of more data usage. You may want to turn on your Wi-Fi if you use WhatsApp regularly.
