La great variety of bullets available is the real highlight of this weapon, which like its heavy version is able to inflict damage of all kinds and status while remaining at a safe distance from the monster. Each different type of crossbow will have different bullets to use and sometimes will allow you to use certain shots more effectively, loading or firing faster than others.

Another peculiarity of the light crossbow is the wide choice of modifications applicable to the weapon that will allow you to adapt it to your style of play. Furthermore, compared to its heavy version, it allows you to move much more easily in the course of battles.

Attacks with basic silk silk

Also the Light Crossbow can have 2 different Silkweave Attacks from the beginning, both with different cost and use.

A silkworm attack that can be activated with R and A. Shoot with ZR, reload with X and use the wyvern blast below with A. Costs a silkworm bug charge.

Exchange skill

As with any category of weapons, the Light Crossbow will be able to make use of Exchange skill, or interchangeable attacks that you will unlock with specific missions after you have used it enough.

Two of these will replace basic attacks, while one can replace an Attack with silk silk. However, keep in mind that each can only substitute for some specific attacks, modifying the resulting move but keeping the buttons to press to perform it identical.

Elemental Reload (replaces Reload)

Elemental Reload is an attack that replaces the recharge. Allows you to reload hits with a special mechanism that slows down the reload but allows elemental hits to inflict greater damage.

Quickstep Evade (replaces Forward Dodge)

Quickstep Evade is an attack that replaces the Forward Dodge. It consists of a quick dodge that can be done with the weapon unsheathed that covers less distance than the normal dodge but has a shorter reload time. It also allows bullets fired after executing it to do more damage.

Fanning Maneuver (replaces Fan Leap)

Fanning maneuver is a silkworm attack that it replaces Fan leap, always requesting as input R + A. It consists of a maneuver that uses the silkworm insect to quickly flank the target. Shots can also be fired on the move and deal increased damage.
