The fate of the poor man, however, is already sealed and in fact, after having given you the envelope, he will collapse and die on the beach.

In fact, reading the letter you will discover that it is titled "Letter to Bonnie MacFarlane" and at first glance it seems to have been written from the divorced husband of the woman.



In the letter, Bonnie's ex-husband, whose name is not mentioned, apologizes to Bonnie for how things went. Apparently the man blames himself, pointing out that things have gotten out of hand and, while realizing it, he has denied the evidence. The husband repeats several times that he and Bonnie are destined to be together and raise children, but unfortunately for him things did not go that way.

Below is the complete text of the letter with its translation:

Dear Miss MacFarlane, I’m sorry. I said it. I’m sorry. You’re right. I do let things get out of control in my head. I always have. I see that but I love you. We are meant to be together. It is our destiny. I know it is. I saw us in a dream, raising kids. You were very happy as my wife and I was proud to be your husband. Dreams don’t lie and neither do I.

I’m heading off to make my fortune and when I come back as a rich man, you’ll see what a fine husband I will make you, and a father to our children. And no, I won’t grow up. On that subject you’re wrong. I’ve got so many things to say to you. I’m going to continue with the writing of this letter later, but believe me when I say, we are destined for a long, happy life together. Even your father will come to believe it and accept me, no matter how humble my birth.


Translation:

“Dear Miss MacFarlane, I'm sorry. I said it. I'm sorry. You're right. I let things get out of control in my head. I always have. I know but I love you. We are made to be together. It is our destiny. I know it is. I saw the two of us in a dream, while we were raising children. You were happy to be my wife and I was proud to be your husband. Dreams don't lie and neither do I.


I am going to make my fortune and when I return as a rich man, you will see that I will be a good husband and a good father to our children. And no, I won't grow up. On this subject you are wrong. I have so many things to tell you. I will continue with writing this letter later, but believe me when I tell you that we are destined for a long and happy life together. Your father will also start to believe and accept me, no matter how humble my birth is. "


After reading the letter, go back and lay your gaze on the man who has passed away and you will notice a close to him small trunk. If you open it you will find money, whiskey, a watch and other items inside.
