The Blademaster is one of the most versatile classes in Bravely Default II. Compared to the previous chapters it has been revisited in design, so forget samurai and katane. Let's see in more detail what are the skills and characteristics of this class.

Before we start, I remind you to take a look at ours complete guide if you want to know more regarding the various specific aspects of the game.

Class summary

This class can play several roles within the battle. Those who use it can choose between different positions, which allow them to carry out different actions: attack twice, parry and counterattack and use a two-handed weapon. The versatility of this class certainly makes it one of the strongest in the game.

How to unlock it?

The Blademaster class unlocks as you progress through the main story during the events of Chapter 3. Beating both bosses will earn you this Asterisk and the Spirit Master's.

Ability

Recommended skills

Given the versatility of this class, no skill can be considered better than the others. It really depends on how the battle is unfolding and what strategy you have decided to adopt.

If you opt for the compact position:

  • Two-handed grip
  • Cruciform attacks
  • Compact slash

If you opt for the changeable position:

  • Right changeable style
  • Distract attention
  • Changing flow

The first style is offensive, the second defensive. What matters is understanding when to alternate between the two to win as soon as possible.

Specialties and special abilities

Each class has 2 specialties, that is, exclusive bonuses for each class. The first unlocks immediately, while for the second you will have to reach level 12 (for the class).

The special ability instead is the "final move" of each class, available immediately and usable only if certain conditions are met in battle.

Weapon Mastery

It goes without saying that we absolutely recommend using Spade. This class is not particularly complex in equipment.

Best secondary class

The Blademaster works well with any other physical class in the game, especially Fury as you can weaken enemies. More details on the combinations coming soon!
