Mortal Shell Guide - Guide to all trophies and Platinum [100%]

Are you here because you have a problem with a trophy? Don't worry, I'm writing this guide to help you platinum Mortal Shell, first work of the Cold Simmetry studio. Mortal Shell is an atypical and interesting experiment: it is very reminiscent of a souls-like, but it actually takes some elements of Miyazaki's games and reinterprets them to give us a apocryphal action.

Mortal Shell, compared to the most famous titles of From Software, bewitches us by promising us a souls-like experience, but, in fact, it will give us an experience very far from Dark Souls. Skill remains the most important element compared to upgrades or other mechanics! As you progress through the game, several times, the developers will shout at us "EXPERIENCE".

Many times, in souls-like, we will be forced to use certain builds to be able to win easily in PvP mode, or simply for the story. Mortal Shell does not care, and indeed, as we progress in the game, we will find the "shells of mortal heroes“, Useful for adopting the style of play that suits you best. The same goes for weapons, which through an upgrade system, will get an extra effect.

Once you have experimented and found the style that suits you the most, let's see how you can get platinum!

Mortal Shell - Practical Tips

Mortal Shell Guide - Guide to all trophies and Platinum [100%]

My advice for getting the coveted platinum trophy is to start a second run once the game is complete. But don't be afraid to re-face the horrors that lurk within the game, as the developers have made available to us a New Game+. Plus, make the most of this second boss adventure, as once you learn the patterns and keep the upgrades from the previous game, it will be a breeze to earn the coveted Platinum Trophy.

Mortal Shell - The trophy list

The game has 27 trophies divided into:

  • 8 bronze trophies
  • 11 silver trophies
  • 6 gold trophies
  • The unmissable platinum trophy

Bronze trophies

  • Fun guy - Pick 50 mushrooms
Nothing could be simpler: in the Mortal Shell game world we will find two varieties of mushrooms: i Weltcap and the Tarsporas. The former are used to recover energy, the latter for immunity to poison status. To unlock the trophy you just need to collect 50 mushrooms, no matter what type.
  • Step Goal - Kill an enemy with bear trap
Quite simple objective: you have to eliminate an enemy using just the bear traps scattered throughout the area.
We recommend performing this trophy at the beginning of the game in the Falgrim forest area: attack an enemy, be followed and get behind the traps; the enemy will follow you and fall into the bear trap. Repeat until the enemy is dry and voilà, trophy in his pocket.
  • Flesh and Instinct - Find your first Shell
An Easy Easy Trophy: After being defeated by the starting boss and being transported to the new area, walk through the cunnicolo. Once you come out go straight up to the fork, go left and you will find the Harros shell, with relative release of the trophy.
  • Is This Sparta? - Kill an enemy by kicking them off a platform
You will first have to unlock "Reconciliation with the Force", the perk that will allow you with square (or Y in the case of the Xbox) to kick the opponent. Once the ability is unlocked, all you have to do is eliminate an enemy by making it fall from any height.
  • Bring the Glands Back to Me - Bring a gland to Dark Father
After you defeat the first of the main bosses, you will get the first item for the gland set. Go back to Falgrim's tower and give it to Old Prisoner to get the trophy
  • The Good Times are Killing Me - Jam with a brigand
In the initial stages of our adventure, as soon as you enter the forest of Falgrim, you will get, after eliminating the first enemies we encounter, a lute. After collecting the object, around the forest of Falgrim, you will find some enemies sitting intent on playing the lute, slowly approach them and use the lute to unlock the trophy. In case you can't find the lute, don't despair - it's a random drop or an item you can buy from Vlas.
  • It's me - Kill an enemy with a hardened plunge
A bit difficult as a trophy, but don't worry. The trick is simple: you will have to climb high ground, jump, fall on an enemy while using the “Hardening” ability and defeat him.
  • Purrfect- Pet Vlas's Cat
Vlas is the merchant of Mortal shell, is located on the external stairs of the Falgrim tower, and is the one who will sell us the equipment to be able to progress in our odyssey. To keep him company, next to him, there will be a very tender cat: interact with him and enjoy the trophy.

Silver trophies

  • Brigand Life - Waste your life away with Baghead
Baghead is a character that we can find in the Falgrim Forest area and he will assign you a simple side quest that will yield you, in addition to the relative trophy, the secret ending of the game.
To find Baghead, enter the forest of Falgrim after taking the shell of Harros, continue straight until you reach the swamp, turn right and you will find a camp with an Executioner in the distance. Kill the enemies and go down to the left, where you can find a cave.
In order not to be mistaken, inside the cave you will find Gore, the giant frog. At this point, immediately turn left into the hidden path. You will find Baghead sitting by the counter. Talk to him and he will tell you he wants two items:
    1) A roasted rat
    2) A high quality liqueur
Once you have the two required items, enjoy the cinematic and the trophy.
  • [TROPHY NOT REQUIRED FOR PLATINUM] Bars Tended - Become familiar with all items
The trophy will require patience, as you will need to have familiarity maximum with all items and you may lose some on the way, but as it is an unnecessary trophy for platinum, you can also skip it.
  • Sugar Baby - Spend over 50,000 Tar in the Vlas's Shop
Another trophy that will require patience, but this one, unfortunately, you will have to get to get to the much coveted platinum. The mangy part of this trophy is to spend 50,000 Tar in one run.
The advice is to come from Sister Genessa to be able to sell your extra items (since you can't sell them from Vlas). Using this trick you can spend your 50,000 Tars from Vlas and get the trophy.
  • Untarnished - Parry over 100 attacks
You only need to parry 100 attacks during your adventure
  • You Seem Different ... - Unlock all of the Shells in the game
Quite simple objective: you will have to unlock the 4 shells present in the game. In case you have forgotten any, here is the list and places where to find them:
1 - Harros, Il Vassallo: As previously said, after exiting the tunnel go straight, at the fork turn left and you will find it.

2 - Solomon, The Scholar: You will find Solmon's shell in the tunnel that will take us to face for the first time Grisha. Out of the back door of the Falgrim tower, follow the trail of corpses scattered by your friend, until you reach the entrance of the cave where this cute mini-boss awaits us. On the other side of the cave there will be a tunnel, go through it and you will find the shell of the scholar.

3 - Eredrim, the Venerable: You will find the shell of Eredrim lying in front of one of the pillars of the seat of infinity. From Falgrim's tower, return to where you faced Grisha, at the entrance to the cave take the tunnel on the right. When finished, you will find yourself a camp with bandits, eliminate them and go down the path in front of you.
At this point, you will find, during your crossing, a lute player and two enemies armed with axes. Defeated the enemies, climb along the path, finally finding a structure of black stone. Follow the path that takes you to the building and, on your right, you will find the remains of Eredrim

4 - Tiel, The Acolyte: You will find Tiel's shell in the outskirts of Falgrim, near the tomb of the martyrs. Go to where Sister Genessa is and go into the tunnel to her left. Once you exit you will find yourself in front of a large tree. Drop into the path below (you can't go wrong: there is a torch hanging on the wall and a rock with an inscription).

Walk down the hill until you find a bandit playing the lute near a healing mushroom clearing. Take the path on the left, cross the tunnel, once you have finished the crossing you will find a tree with many bats to guard. Go past it and follow the downhill road that you find on the right. When you arrive at the enemy camp, you will find some brushwood with a hidden tunnel.
Go through it to find yourself inside the cave where the miniboss awaits you Fri Noctivagu. Eliminate it and collect the shell at the bottom of the cave. Once this is done, you will get your trophy.
  • Different Kind of Grisha - Defeat all different versions of Grisha in the game
Grisha is a recurring miniboss in the game, in fact it will show itself three times in front of you in different ways. To get the trophy, you will have to defeat it all 3 times:
    1) Normal Grisha: You will find it in the Falgrim Swamp, to get Solomon's shell.
    2) Weak Grisha: After activating the fog in Falgrim, you will find them waiting for you as "two enemies equal to Grisha"
    3) Grisha enslaved: You will have to defeat him in order to leave the abandoned chamber area
  • Faded the Fire - Defeat Imrod, the Unrepeteant
Boss of the story, you will find him in the Ash Santury, just defeat him and take the trophy
  • Martyr'd the Martyr - Defeat Tarsus, The First Martyr
Boss of the story, you will find him in the Crypt of the Martyrs, just defeat him and take the trophy
  • Tragic Loss - Defeat Crucix, The Twiceborn
Boss of the story, you will find him in the Throne of Infinity area, just defeat him and take the trophy
  • Felled the GrandFather - Defeat The Unchained
Story boss as well as final boss of the game. Do you need explanations?
  • Nailed It - Kill two or more enemies with one shot from the ballistazooka
To get the Ballistazooka, you will need to buy the "Tools" from Vlas.
Once we have obtained and upgraded in the weapon upgrade bench, we will have the Ballistazooka. After obtaining this weapon, go anywhere in the Falgrim Swamp, grapple with two enemies and place them in single file. Et voila, trophy taken.

Gold Trophies

  • [TROPHY NOT NECESSARY FOR PLATINUM] Forever Alone - Beat the game without ever bonding with a shell
In practice, to receive this trophy, which I recommend you take in the New Game +, since it is also linked to another trophy and you will have to know the various shortcuts and the various bosses well, you will have to finish the game in your initial form without recovering shells.
  • [TROPHY NOT NECESSARY FOR PLATINUM] Face Off - Defeat Harden in the tutorial
As the trophy says, in the first boss fight of the tutorial you will have to defeat Harden. It's easy to beat him as he uses your own skills. We calibrate the fight well with your “Harden” ability, when it gets off-balance by your parry, attack twice with light attacks and then dodge while you have the ability on cooldown. Be careful when attacking, though, as he too has a chance to harden his armor. Continuing the boss fight with this method, it will be a breeze to defeat Harden!
  • [TROPHY NOT REQUIRED FOR PLATINUM] Seeker of Truth - Unlock all secret lore.
Trophy that will require you to find the 19 inscriptions and 17 engravings within the game world. Finding the 19 inscriptions will be an easy task: they are pillars formed by an external orange light, and you will find them during your pilgrimage. The 17 engravings, on the other hand, are tables that will make up the whole story of Falgrim and his world.
  • Crossed to Threshold - Complete Mortal Shell
Nothing particularly difficult: we just have to complete our adventure and enjoy the trophy and the game ending
  • The nihilist- Renounce humankind
In the swamp of Falgrim, in the cave of Gorf the Frog, crossing the area after the enemy with the ax, there will be a sanctuary with which you can interact. By interacting with it, you will have the Dark Obsidian form and all shells and upgrades associated with them will be lost. Once you have this form, you will have the trophy.
  • [TROPHY NOT NECESSARY FOR PLATINUM] Life is Suffering - Beat the game in obsidian dark form
Trophy linked to the previous one: you will have to finish the game in the form of a Dark Obsidian.

Once you have completed all the objectives, except those with the wording [TROPHY NOT NECESSARY FOR PLATINUM], you can have the satisfaction of completing Mortal Shell 100%!
