Travel light

Let's start our umpteenth guide on how to beat Demon's Souls bosses talking about as usual how to prepare for confrontation with the King of Storms. This demon is a giant version of the strange floating manta rays that haunt the storm island. While the small ones are not very dangerous, their king will certainly be able to give you a hard time.

This creature is capable of dealing massive damage, so it is advisable to wear armor with one very high defense. In this fight, however, it is also important to be light and fast, so we advise you to prepare two sets of armor in your inventory, a light one to use at the beginning and a heavier one to equip later. Furthermore, to lighten you even more, we suggest you to do not equip a melee weapon, since you won't need it.

This is all a warrior needs to face the fight, but if you have a PC capable of using a bow or magic, we recommend that you do a good stock up on arrows and spices. Also remember to harmonize the right spells for the occasion. The best spells for dealing damage to this boss are Arrow of the Soul and Ray of the Soul, while for your protection you can use Guard.

As soon as you pass the boss fog you will find yourself along a coastal section of the island and you will immediately find yourself in a very dangerous situation. In the sky above you, in fact, there will be the colossal King of Storms surrounded by many smaller manta rays. In this situation, surely you are wondering how to take down all these floating creatures, but luckily the answer to your questions is not far off.

First you will need to start run along the left coast of the arena, while trying to avoid all the bullets that will be thrown at you by the boss and his minions. Continuing in this direction, after a while you will find yourself in front of one forest of monoliths in which you can enter. Smaller manta rays don't normally venture into this area and the large black pylons can serve as protection against the boss's powerful attacks, so you will be quite safe here.

In the center of this place you will also find a large sword set in the ground that you can extract without too much difficulty. This is the Mistress of Storms, a magical weapon capable of splitting the sky with frightening power and will be ideal for fighting the archdemon.

Now that you've finally got hold of the Storm Lady, it's finally time to change equipment. Open the menu and quickly equip the strongest armor you have prepared and the brand new sword you have just collected. Once this is done you will have to attract the attention of the boss to get him to approach and the best way to do this is to kill his young. Once you have cleared enough of them the archfiend will be furious and will approach the ground to try to attack you. At this moment you will have to immediately run behind one of the monoliths, wait for the boss to pass above you at low altitude and use the pylon as a shield to defend yourself from bullets who will hurl at you.

After avoiding the first flurry of blows, it is finally time to fight back! Get out of your cover, hook the demon, and finally hit him with a two-handed attack from the Storm Lady. The power of the sword will allow you to inflict massive damage on the boss from a distance, making the fight really easy. Now all you have to do is repeat this process until the Storm King is defeated. Just pay attention to position yourself well behind the columns, as sometimes not all boss bullets will follow the same trajectory.

For warriors, using the Mistress of the Storms is the only way to defeat this boss, but for those capable of using ranged attacks there are other options as well. If using a bow for example you can hide behind the small house on the right side of the arena and use it as a shield while constantly hitting the boss with your arrows. This tactic is very safe but depending on the type of bow and arrow it could take a long time. The only danger in this situation is small flying mantas, as they may sometimes find a corner from which to hit you. For this reason, before aiming for the boss we suggest you to delete them all.

If you are a wizard, you can use spells to inflict on the King of Storms damage even greater than that inflicted by the Lady of the Storms. Unlike archers, however, you will be less safe, as your spells have a shorter range than arrows. A good way to take out the boss with spells is to wait for the boss in the area in front of the house. hit it with a couple of spells and then run to the back to be protected from bullets. But remember also in this case of eliminate the small manta rays first, as they could cause you various problems.
