Lots of colorful balloons - Animal Crossing: New Horizons, balloon color guide

You will certainly have seen, while traveling around your island, that sometimes balloons of various colors will flutter over your head they carry gift packages. These packages will contain materials, projects or objects of various kinds. To get the package you will have to pop the balloon using a slingshot. To get this tool, you can buy the DIY project from Mirco and Marco's shop for 300 stars, or buy a sling at the price of 900 stars.

To find the balloons, however, you will have to use hearing. As one approaches, you will feel the wind blowing more and more intensely. Use the right analog to raise the view upwards and, once you are right in front of the balloon, select the Slingshot and shoot using the A button. Once hit, the balloon will burst and the gift will fall at your feet. Be careful not to burst them above the water of rivers or the sea, or you will lose the gift package.

Day and night, night and day - Animal Crossing: New Horizons, balloon color guide

During the day (from 5 to 18) the balloons will be born on one side of your island and will travel to the opposite. The two sides will reverse at night (18pm to 5am). All balloons carry different objects, as we said before, although some colors seem to carry certain things more often. From what we have been able to deduce (and also comparing ourselves with other newspapers that have talked about it), yellow balloons should release more often than little stars, while the blue balloons crafting materials (clay, iron ore and so on).

It is not yet known, because we still do not have enough data, what is more likely to be found in the green and red balloons. It seems, however, that green balloons have a fairly high percentage of clothes inside them, while red balloons should contain DIY projects more often. However, these are speculations, which we hope to be able to confirm over time.

Finally, during the special events, such as the Bunny Day one we talked about at the beginning, balloons of different colors will also appear containing the objects of the event. In the case of Egg Hunt, for example, colorful striped balloons will appear which will contain either event-specific DIY projects, or Heavenly Eggs.
