Guide Complete guide to the Sword Ax - Monster Hunter Rise

Guide Complete guide to the Sword Ax - Monster Hunter Rise

With the beginning of your experience on Monster Hunter Rise you will immediately have to make a very important choice, which is to understand which weapon you will want to use for the next hours of gameplay. In all there will be 14 different classes at your disposal, each with its strengths, weaknesses and particularities in general.

In this guide, in particular, we will talk about the Spadascia, specifying their various basic moves, combos, silkworm attacks and trading skills, along with some general tips on how to use them.

Furthermore, if the guide is not enough for you and you want the weapon in action, I refer you directly to Edivad video tutorial, one of the contributors from the facebook page La Taverna del Cacciatore:

Basic commands

La Spadascia, as the name suggests, it is an ax capable of transforming itself into a broadsword and vice versa. Shape changes are regulated by a special indicator called Shift bar, which will allow you to transform your ax into a broadsword once filled enough.

Remember that if the bar is not full enough instead of transforming the weapon an animation will start that will make you reload the bar itself, so learn well the values required to transform the weapon because a reload at the wrong time during a hunt can cost you very dear. .

Another peculiarity of the Spadascia is the presence of vials, very useful for inflicting extra damage while transforming into a sword. Each Sword Ax will have its own specific vial and depending on the weapon chosen you can inflict damage of all types, from elemental to status ones.

Once you have passed into the greatsword form it is good to remember that the transformation will not be permanent since you will use the charge of the Shift Bar to apply the effects of the vials to each attack. Continuously attacking with the sword will also bring the vials to the amplified state, very useful for being able to deliver extra hits in both forms.

Combo

  • Basic ax combo: L + X (Ax: thrust) -> X (Ax: high slash) -> X (Ax: slash) -> X (Ax: upright)
  • Combo when opening with a sword: X (x3) (Combo Slash X) -> A (x2) (Combo Slash A) -> X + A (Elemental Blast) -> Quickly Press X (Final Elemental Blast)

Attacks with basic silk silk

Also the Spadascia can have 2 different Silkweave Attacks from the beginning, both with different cost and use.

Invincible Gambit

A silkworm attack that can be activated with ZL and X. It is a forward rotating devastation that will strengthen you: you will not falter or get rejected after even violent attacks. Costs a silkworm insect charge.

Exchange charge

A silkworm attack that can be activated with ZL and A. He throws you forward with a thread bug and quickly restores the shift gauge, which will not decrease for a period. Costs a silkworm insect charge.

Exchange skill

As with any category of weapons, the Spadascia will be able to make use of Exchange skill, or interchangeable attacks that you will unlock with specific missions after you have used it enough.

Two of these will replace basic attacks, while one can replace an Attack with silk silk. However, keep in mind that each can only substitute for some specific attacks, modifying the resulting move but keeping the buttons to press to perform it identical.

Forward Overhead Slash (replaces lunge)

Forward Overhead Slash it is an attack that replaces Lunge. A lunge attack made by loading the ax and slamming it violently to the ground. This attack deals considerable damage despite being difficult to hit the target and can be chained to a Double Slash

Compressed Discharge (replaces Final Elemental Discharge)

Compressed Discharge is an attack that replaces the Final elemental discharge. It allows you to enter a position resistant to any recoil and executes a quick strike followed by an elemental explosion. This action is not affected by the level of the change bar.

Flying Wyvern Blade (replaces Invincible Gambit)

Soaring Wyvern Blade it is an attack with a silkworm insect that it will replace Invincible Gambit, always requesting as input ZL and X. Use the wire bug to leap up as it strikes, finishing the move with a Midair Lunge. If the hit is successful, the weapon's amplified gauge fills up and causes an explosion at the moment of the hit. After using this attack, the Silkweave Bug Bar recharges at medium speed.
