The laundry

Sohta Tono, the young protagonist of the game, is the son of a hard-working couple who own a laundry. Her adventure begins right at her parents' shop, for which Sohta undertakes to make some deliveries. The first of the day is a package of clean linen to be delivered to the baker's shop. Leaving the laundry room you will complete the first, very short, chapter of the game. Outside you can start exploring the currently accessible areas of the city. The map on the lower screen helps you find your way around and provides you with some valuable insights into the people you can interact with and the places where you will need to go to advance the activities of the episodes that are still active. In your wanderings you will come across some luminous objects semi-hidden on the ground: these are gems that you can collect and collect. For every seven gems of the same type, you will get a Monster Card, to be used in a particular card game that you must learn to master in view of the final stages of the game. When you feel ready to proceed, then reach the southern area of the town and talk to the strange woman who stops right outside the bakery, after which you enter the shop which, to your surprise, turns out to be empty at the moment. Back on the street you will meet a cute little boy who introduces himself as A-Plus. The young man finds you nice and would like to introduce you to his friends, who have gathered at the Vacant Lot to play together. This place is located near the TV station. After having communicated this little information, A-Plus walks away, concluding the second episode and starting the third.

The television station

Now is the time to drop by the TV station. But first a detour to the police station may be useful. So go north and at the Diner crossroads head north-west. Here you meet Emily, who after the conversation will return to the baker's shop where you can find her later, and Agent Kobayashi. To activate Episode 4, make sure you speak to Kobayashi after Emily leaves the building. Now head instead to the television station, reachable by taking the east branch at the previous fork, where you meet again the strange lady already seen near the oven. This time he will introduce himself as Mehami-chan, triggering the fifth episode. After the conversation, go to the area adjacent to the TV station to enter the Vacant Lot where the friends of A-Plus are playing.

A-Plus friends

After introductions with the guys from A-Plus, Ramen and Akebi, Sohta helps her new friends clear the passage to the Vacant Lot blocked by some stones. At this juncture, Frank enters the scene, a mysterious character who will briefly talk to the boys before leaving, completing the events of the third episode. Take advantage of the calm to deepen the relationship with the other characters. Talk to Akebi first to activate Episode 6, then go to the nearby screen where you find Frank again and start another conversation with him. Then gather with your young companions and chat with Ramen, activating Episode 7.

This episode of the adventure requires you to talk to Ramen in different settings. Start from the nearby TV station: the conversation there will lead the two characters to move to the Diner, where Sohta is introduced to Ramen's father, and manager of the restaurant. This encounter also triggers Episode 8. Your next stop is the police station, reachable by following the train tracks nearby. There Ramen explains to Sohta how Akebi actually lives at a very short distance from our protagonist's house. That said, Ramen runs off an alley to Monster Hill - obviously your job is to follow him. When you reach the back of the building, move south, passing a few screens, including the one that forces you to go under a bridge. Along the way you will come across a wooden bridge whose passage activates Episode 11. At the crossroads, choose the road that leads east to meet Ramen again. Go past him, returning to the bridge you passed previously, and let him follow you to the southern area of the market to start a new conversation with him, then follow him in turn towards Monster Hill.

Monster Hill

After admiring the view from Monster Hill, continue the conversation with Ramen by proceeding along the path to close Episode 7. Meanwhile, you will have noticed a child intent on stealthily descending a tree, an event totally missed by Ramen. Continue anyway and at the end of the path talk to Ramen again by activating Episode 9. Now retrace your steps, up to the intersection where you saw Ramen a little while ago. You find him there again, but this time an older boy comes to interrupt you. After the confrontation, the newcomer flees to the east. Ignore it for now and follow Ramen west. When you reach him, he and the rest of the group will be busy examining a strange, monstrously shaped footprint. The group follows the tracks on the ground to an area further east where a gang of thugs blocks their passage: they are there to hear the voice of the monster that occasionally comes from the depths of the well and they have no intention of leaving until they will not have heard the dreadful roar. So you have to find an alternative route, which starts Episode 10. At the moment you just have to return to Monster Hill where you meet an enigmatic figure dressed in a black t-shirt. Talk to the man and pay attention to his words to receive valuable advice on how to deal with the question of the well, activating episode 11. Practice his suggestion immediately and take the path that runs alongside the stream. until you reach the screen where you can interact with a pipe: by doing so, Sohta will roar inside you, causing his terrifying scream to reverberate up to the well, terrorizing everyone present (and completing Episode 10).

The imprint

Beyond the bridge, you notice another footprint that leads your search to the west. To make your life easier, however, open the wooden gate to the east to create a convenient shortcut with which to return to this road. This simple action however opens and closes Episode 14. Along the shortcut, you can also get to Akebi's house and discover that the man with the black shirt you met a little while ago is actually her father.
However, continue your investigation of the footprint and advance west of the well. Along the way you meet Frank: talk to him to proceed in the episode that concerns him, then keep moving forward until you discover a factory whose sign on the facade reads "Creature Feature". On the left, notice a sign hanging on the wall of the building: read it to complete Episode 9. Then, at the start of Episode 13, Sohta decides it is time to warn the police of the imminent invasion in progress.

Alarm

Upon reaching the police station, Sohta reports his concern to Officer Kobayashi, who cannot help him, so he advises him to go to the TV station to raise the alarm. So run east, enter the TV station and talk to Megami-chan, noting how the program of the imminent invasion is showing off on a wall of the studio. The woman then leads you to another room where, at the end of a solemn ceremony, Sotha appoints a Junior member of the Space Defense Department. After asking you not to talk to anyone about what has just happened, Megami returns to take care of her commitments. Meanwhile, the ceremony concluded Episode 13, while Episode 15 opened and ended during the visit to the television studio.

When the latter is gone, follow Akebi.

UFO

At the well, ask Akebi to wait for you there and bring Sohta back to the pipe: once again have Sohta roar inside the pipe to scare Akebi. Then go back to the well and talk to Akebi again, who will ask you to join the other guys at the bridge. Before heading to the meeting point, however, look for Frank in the southwest screen and talk to him. Anyway, you won't find anyone at the bridge to the northeast for the moment, so head to the alley with your car parked near the Vacant Lot to meet Akebi. From there proceed to the uncovered factory beyond I can. Along the way you meet Billboard near an underpass, talking to an older boy. Talk to them to start Episode 18. Now head back to the bridge, where the group is finally reunited. After the explanation of the meaning of the mysterious writing, the group splits up again, ending Episode 11 and starting Episode 19. Get away following the path that leads to Monster Hill: suddenly a real UFO appears and kidnaps Sohta. In the strange moments that follow, Sohta talks about it with Frank at the diner, concluding chapter 19. Then head south and cross the bridge to meet S-Chan, a new girl who will join Sohta's group of friends. During the conversation with her you will witness a battle between gigantic monsters that takes place in the background. Run to Monster Hill, activating Episodes 20 and 21, then head south.

Monsters!

So talk to agent Kobayaschi, then at the crossroads go first north to talk to Frank, then south-east where S-Chan awaits you. Talk to her again, then continue across the bridge to find a large group of people waiting in Monster Hill. There, talk to everyone present then go back to the laundry room to talk to Sohta's father, completing Episode 16. Later, return to Monster Hill to watch a cut-scene, during which the appearance of a large monster closes the door. Episode 21 and Episode 22, just opened. Now try to leave the area to activate a new cut-scene from which Sohta emerges as the defender of space. After the automatic encounter with Emily, go to Frank north across the bridge and talk to him. Once the monster frees Sohta and S-Chan's mother, talk to everyone in Monster Hill again. Before returning to the Marketplace, talk to the man in the black shirt who is to the north, under the railway bridge, to enjoy the fight.

The battle

Reach the TV station, then head south to meet Nanafushi: talk to him to convince him to join the battle and discover that the only way to move him is to beat him in Monster Card. If you find it difficult to get the victory, keep wandering around the scenario collecting new gems to increase the hoard of cards at your disposal. Epilogue

The cut-scene set at the Diner after the credits closes Episode 20, after which you bring Sohta to talk with her father at the laundry to finish Episode 8. Also in this same place you can also find S-Chan, ready to indulge in a game of Monster Card. Not an option to be underestimated. This is the only way to obtain the gems necessary for the creation of cards number 13, 14, and 15, necessary for the completion of Episode 4 which requires the collection of all the cards of the game. Other gems have been scattered around the town at the end of the battle, so you'll also have to explore every nook and cranny of the different environments if you want to complete the game 100%.
Now you just have to close the last incomplete episodes. These are numbers 2 and 5. Before continuing, you need to know that you can now change the topic of conversation depending on the character you interact with. Turning to Frank al Vacant Lot, instead, the topic of conversation will be brought back to the initial one. To complete Episodes 2 and 5, talk to Kobayashi and Megami-chan respectively - both are located in the market area and screens to the south.
