After several postponements, the Mi A3 smartphones are slowly starting to receive Android 10. With a post on the Mi Community, the Chinese brand has warned the owners of Android One devices (including Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite) that after installing the new version of the green robot system it will no longer be possible to downgrade to return to Android 9 Pie.

"Android 10 brings many irreversible system updates, the rollback to previous versions can cause errors and defects that can adversely affect the normal operation of the device" reads the communication. Some owners of Mi A3 complain of cases of battery drain, a deterioration in the photographic quality of the front camera, malfunction of face recognition or icon for unlocking via fingerprint disappeared with the display off. In the latter case, however, it would not be an error but only a new approach. Furthermore, it appears that - following user reports - Xiaomi has decided to block the distribution so as to be able to fix the various bugs.

A few days ago, the Chinese manufacturer had made it known that the release of Android 10 on Mi A3 was suffering further delays due to the coronavirus without providing new timing. A few days later, the new incarnation of the Big-G operating system began to reach some users. We therefore do not know what really happened, but the relationship between Xiaomi and Android 10 is not the best if we consider how Mi 9T was also a victim of battery drain following the update. We will continue to keep you updated on the evolution of the situation.
