Pokémon GO Season of Legends Guides [news and research]

March 1 marks the opening of the Season of Legends of Pokémon GO, which we know for sure will mark the debut of three new legendary and mega Pokémon. This Season will run until June 1st of this year, when it will give way to the next one.

Another news to report is given by seventh season of the Battle League. For more information on the title, you can consult ours complete guide.

The Pokémon available

A first note to make is that in reality the three new legendaries are not all that new. It is in fact the alternative form of Tornadus, Landorus and Thundurus - the Totem shape.

It is not known how and when they will be available, but it is confirmed that they will arrive during the Season along with new mega raids. It also appears that completing a legendary raid will allow you to gain more experience points than usual.

Theme with the trio of legendaries too a special research dedicated to the new Season. The steps are not yet clear (which will be shared here as soon as they become available), but among the rewards we will certainly find candy for Landorus, Thundurus and Tornadus.

The map will host different Pokémon themed with the Season, as well as with the hemisphere to which it belongs. Deerling's spring form debuts in our hemisphere, and consequently the autumn form in the southern hemisphere. Each will then house several starter Pokémon.

Also the eggs will host new species of Pokémon. They are not all confirmed yet, but some new arrivals are. They are almost all available in chromatic form, with the exception of Munna and Alomomola.

Also remember that the evolutions of the three starters from the Hoenn region have a mega-evolution, which will sooner or later be available in the game.

News coming soon

The candies for Thundurus, Tornadus and Landorus that will be given to us as a reward are quite a surprise. For the first time they come there give candy for Legendary Pokémon from a mission, which will help us not to have to keep up with the respective raids (but obviously depends on how many we will be given).

The choice could be motivated by a new game feature recently included in the code. Once activated, you will be able to use materials (probably including candy) for change the shape of a Pokémon.

For example, you can pass from an Alola form to a Kanto form, or (in fact) from the Totem form to the Incarnate form of the three legendaries in question.

Among the finds in recent updates there are also new Pokémon: from the Galar region they will arrive Cursola and Slowking, the first also in the Shadow version. We can therefore expect the release of the respective regional basic forms as well as Corsola Ombra, currently not available.

The latest finding consists of a new evolution requirement, which requires to turn the device over and is therefore certainly related to Inkay. The Pokémon in fact evolved in the main games by flipping the console.

The functionality mentioned above is fully developed and pending release, so it portends that it will arrive shortly.
