Guide Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Guide to flowers and hybrid crossings

Flowers have always been an important element in the series of Animal Crossing, given their enormous aesthetic utility and also the possibility of making particular species of insects appear useful to complete the Blatero Museum. Another use is for DIY, as some recipes may require the use of flowers.

The initial flowers on your island

As soon as you start the game, your island will start with 3 different types of flowers, extracted from a sample of 8 available types.

These different types can then present various colors based on the hybridizations, which we will see through the so-called pollination. To have different colored flowers, just leave a space between two flower crops.

Below we list how to get all the possible colors, that is the crossings:

Anemones

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Blue: White + Orange or White + White
• Pink: Red + Orange
• Purple: Blue + Blue or Blue + Pink

Cosmee

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Black: Red + Red
• Pink: Red + White

Chrysanthemums

• Pink: Red + White
• Green: Purple + Purple
• Purple: White + White

Hyacinths

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Blue: White + White
• Pink: Red + White
  Purple: Blue + Blue

Gigli

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Black: Red + Red
• Pink: Red + White

Pink

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Blue: Hybrid Red + Hybrid Red
• Black: Red + Red
• Pink: Red + White
• Hybrid Red: Purple + Orange
• Purple: White + White

Golden roses

This type of flower is only obtainable after obtaining a 5-star rating, which you will get by constantly improving your island. Fuffi will give you the special do-it-yourself scheme for theGold watering can, necessary to grow golden roses!

But that's not all, you'll have to use this type of watering can on the black roses, following the same procedure done before with the other hybrids.

Tulips

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Black: Red + Red
• Pink: Red + White
• Purple: Black + Black

Violets

• Orange: Red + Yellow
• Blue: White + White
• Purple: Red + Red or Blue + Blue

Surrounding yourself with flowers is an emotion, especially if it's that simple and you don't risk killing them because in real life you have a thumb that is anything but green!
