Dom Hofmann, the co-creator of Vine, just released an application that looks a lot like TikTok. For those who don't remember Vine, it was an application linked to Twitter which allowed to realize short video with a maximum duration of 6 seconds. Despite having an interesting concept, the social network struggled to depopulate and in 2018 the project was officially closed. Perhaps driven by the success of other modern protagonists, Hofmann has devised another application, namely Byte.
The basic idea is very similar to that of Vine: the creation of short videos, lasting up to 6 seconds, which can then be shared directly on the platform. This social network had already been announced in 2018 and its release was set for end of 2019. Some problems, the nature of which we do not know, however, prompted the creator to delay the release.

THEuser interface has been redesigned: it will be possible to view several videos that follow one another in the main feed, a bit like it happens with the application owned by ByteDance. In 2020 however, it could be even more difficult to achieve success with an application of this type. Young people are in fact used to using many social networks that offer more tools than Byte. Dom Hofmann's app will have to compete with TikTok (found under investigation), Instagram, Snapchat e Likee. Byte is already available on the Google Play Store and App Store.
