Black Mage Skills and Traits Guides - Bravely Default II

Il Black magician also appears on Bravely Default II and is a recurring class within the series. In this guide I'll explain everything you need to know. I remember that this guide is still in progress as it lacks some optimal skills and combinations.

In case you are also interested in other classes or completely different mechanics, I refer you to ours guide on this.

Class summary

The Black Magician is based on the use of black magic, which is mainly offensive or aims to inflict status ailments. It is a very important class in the game and very useful for dealing with enemies during casual encounters.

The main reasons why you should consider the Black Wizard are:

  • Indispensable at the beginning of the game and even after.
  • Versatile thanks to the elements.
  • Accessible immediately.

How to unlock it?

The Dark Magician class is unlocked by continuing with the main story, arriving on the beach, literally 5 minutes after starting the game. He will join the party Elvis who, being the bearer of this class, will make it available to the entire team.

Ability

Below are the skills learned from the Black Wizard, which are mostly (guess what) black magic.

Recommended skills

There is not too much to recommend in this class, which you must necessarily upgrade to have access to higher level black magic. Unfortunately, passive skills are not very good and are quite occasional.

Aspir Attack is still a great skill for casual encounters in case you run out of MP.

Specialties and special abilities

It does not have very useful specialties as it is, however, a base class but overall it is quite useful along with its special ability

specialty

The second specialty is learned at level 12, while the first is available immediately.

Special skills

Recommended equipment

Being a magical class, the use of sidearms is absolutely not recommended. Ability to use a shield to increase physical defense just enough so you don't die in long-term fights.

Best secondary class

Here, too, nothing too long to explain, you need to test these days to understand what fits best. However, the Black Mage remains great even without any secondary classes, but it makes no sense not to give him any.
