three heroes

Batman can throw batarangs, control bats, and more in DC Justice League Cosmic Chaos

DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos allows us to control three heroes: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. They will be accompanied by other more or less masked men of the Justice League, such as Flash, Acquaman, Cyborg and Green Lantern, who will however not be playable and will play a supporting role.

Let's talk about a simple third person action game with a top-down view, in which we can control one hero at a time, changing on the fly to take advantage of the different special recharge abilities. The gameplay is completely fighting based, with simple punches where you just need to dodge a few times from time to time. To make things a little more varied are the powers, three for each character in DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos. We can throw batarangs, use laser sights, attract an enemy with the Lasso of Truth and more.

the fight is As simple and accessible as it is repetitive. During DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos we will also unlock alternative powers, to use instead of the basic ones, but the pace of the game does not change much. The problem is often that the missions take too long and we are forced to repeat battles one after another in visually repetitive locations.

DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos attempts to make combat as dynamic as possible by using a elemental weakness system: Enemies have a colored halo indicating what they are weak at, and each hero and each attack is associated with an element, including ice, fire, electricity, and more. By adding reload skill management, you are forced to switch from one character to another every few seconds. It's a good idea and helps a little, but at the end of the day you don't do much more than press the action button repeatedly for most of the game.

However, DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos might be a little more interesting for kids who have siblings or a parent who wants a colorful little game to share with their kids thanks to couch co-op (maximum two). There's also many levels of difficulty, the maximum being the one that really requires a certain commitment in the defensive phase. Plus, when you're in the open world, there's always an arrow pointing you where to go, a great help for little ones.

happy harbor

The DC Justice League Cosmic Chaos city - Happy Harbor - is a small, colorful and cheerful open world map.

The objective of the game is Happy Harbor, a city divided into neighborhoods They are distinguished by the level of the enemies. We will be able to explore freely in search of chests and collectible objects, that is, comic book pages that we can exchange for alternative costumes for our characters. For the rest, we spend time accumulating experience points: each level up grants us new skills and gives us materials (which are also obtained by defeating enemies), necessary to increase the heroes' skills. Additionally, there are several items to equip to further enhance Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman - not that it's really necessary given the low-medium difficulty level.

However, the city is just a not particularly interesting backdrop for the plot, in which much of the Justice League comes under the control of Starro The Conqueror, a starfish who was helped by Mister Mxyzptlk. The latter, as always, just wants to have a little fun and proclaims himself mayor of Happy Harbor and unleashes a bit of chaos. The plot is simple and always told with a comic touch: we are certainly not facing a complex and interesting plot, but we must remember that it must also be suitable for children, so that's okay.

The three heroes of DC Justice League Cosmic Chaos have many costumes to unlock

Taking into account the type of game, the variety of enemies is good, including fish, crabs, strange corals, manta rays, and various sea monstrosities that can fight up close, from afar, and even summon allies. Then there are also the best-known villains of the DC world, such as Bizarro and Clayface, relegated to side missions. Finally, there are many references to other characters that do not appear in the game thanks to the equippable items, which will allow true fans to show off their encyclopedic knowledge.

We also point out that the game is completely in spanish, good quality dubbing included. Another excellent news for preschool children, who will be able to follow the story without problems. There are also some nice animated interludes at major plot points, which enrich the package.

DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos is a simple and accessible but repetitive action adventure. More experienced players won't find what they're looking for, but for younger players it could be a good option, as long as they like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and company. The most interesting part is the local co-op, which makes the game suitable for brothers and sisters or a parent who wants to share the passion of it with younger children. It's not a game we'll remember, but it does its job honestly.

  • the local cooperative
  • Colorful, happy, accessible for all ages.
