Rain of announcements at Huawei. After the Mate Xs in fact, here comes the MateBook X Pro too. As the name suggests, this is the new version of the Windows ultrabook unveiled in 2018 at the Mobile World Congress and renewed last year. The Chinese company has decided to focus on the same form factor, with the display frames reduced to the bone and the now iconic solution of the webcam embedded in one of the buttons of the physical keyboard.

Under the body, we find the 5th generation Intel Core i7 / iXNUMX processors, coupled with 8/16 Gigabytes of RAM (LPDDR3 standard, 2.133 MHz) and 512 GB / 1 TB of SSD. The screen is a 13,9-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 3.000 x 2.000 pixels, an aspect ratio of 3: 2 (therefore ideal for productivity) and a maximum brightness of 450 nits. The display-to-body ratio is 91%, and this certainly provides the idea of how much the bezels actually are reduced to the bone.

MateBook X Pro also, depending on the version, can count on an integrated Intel UHD graphics card or a dedicated Nvidia one, in particular the GeForce MX250 with 2 Gigabytes of memory. The set of ports consists of a USB-A with standard 3.0, a USB-C with standard 3.1 and a USB-C. Present the dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and four stereo speakers. The software part is obviously entrusted to Windows 10, the fingerprint sensor is not missing, while the unibody body has a particular sandblasted finish.

This made it possible to contain the weight in 1,33 kg, with a thickness of 14,6 mm when closed. To give you a yardstick, Apple's MacBook Pro 13 has a weight of 1,37 kg and a thickness of 14,9 mm. However, Huawei has not given up on autonomy, given that in this size it has managed to embed a 56 Wh battery. We obviously wait to test the device in the field in order to verify the tightness of the latter.

Finally, chapter prices and availability. The MateBook X Pro will make its debut in Europe starting from April 2020, in three configurations: i5 / 16GB / 512GB with Intel integrated graphics at a price of 1.499 euros; i5 / 16GB / 512GB with Nvidia MX250 graphics card at 1.699 euros;
i7 / 16GB / 1TB with Nvidia MX250 graphics card at 1.999 euros.
